Canadian Cancer Society
The Canadian Cancer Society is leading the way in the fight against cancer. The Society funds research on all types of cancer, provides info on cancer treatments and risk reduction, and provides transportation to appointments for cancer related medical appointments. They also work to provide support for people living with cancer, family members and friends. For more information, click here.
Transportation is available. To arrange for volunteer drivers for cancer related appointments in Bracebridge and Gravenhurst contact 705-645-8557and Huntsville 705-789-9433. Callers will be picked up at home and transportation can be arranged to most places within the province including locally or as far as London, Sudbury or Toronto. Service is free of charge, but it is best to give at least 3 business days notice.
There are many treatment options, some of which include, biological therapy, targeted therapy, managing side effects, complementary and alternative therapies, clinical trials, drug information, radiation therapy, hormonal drug therapy, chemotherapy, and after treatment care.
